Hardwood and Luxury Vinyl Flooring Project for a New Home
The project: A new two-storey + basement house
Our team carpeted the upstairs bedrooms and stairs and installed engineered hardwood on the main floor. Luxury vinyl completed the planned rental unit in the basement suite.
The product: Vavel Europena Oak by Eckowood
Six-foot long, 7 ⅜-inch wide wire-brushed engineered hardwood planks were chosen for the main floor. Paying attention to the tiniest details, our team ordered custom-made hardwood flush floor vents to cover all the heating vents. Cozy carpeting from the Mohawk Smart Strand series gave the upstairs a plush look and feel, while the basement suite was finished with the good looking but practical Centura duraflex floor glue-down vinyl plank.
How the product was selected
The owners and builder agreed on several goals in choosing the flooring. They wanted a rustic, natural look to accent the fireplace and surrounding space in the main living area, and basement flooring that was less sensitive to daily wear and tear but matched look of natural oak on the main floor.
